BONTOC- The newly elected Board of Directors (BODs) of Philippine Red Cross – Mountain Province Chapter took their oath of office before Presiding Judge Luis A. Dao-en of the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) of Bontoc on March 25, 2015.
Prior to this, the new BODs were elected during an assembly on March 19 participated by the current members of the BOD, heads of different national agencies, municipal mayors, academe, president of different Non- Government Organizations, religious sectors and business sectors. Also, the newly elected BODs elected their officers in the presence of Rudelly Cabutin, Manager of the Chapter Development Office of the Philippine Red Cross.
With this, Governor Leonard G. Mayaen was re-elected as the Chairman of the BODs of Red Cross- MP Chapter. Other elected members to take their sits for four years are Febe Cawilan, Paula Acofo – Assistant Treasurer, Juliet Saley- Information Officer, Darwin Philip Alera- Secretary, Donna Cawis Balio – Assistant Secretary, Iren Baltan and Anacleto Tangilag.
Those elected members who will serve for two years are Pascual Sacgaca- Vice Chairman, Narcisa Serrano- Treasurer, Leo Parado, Asuncion Diaz, Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) President Rexton Chakas, Stefen Ofo-ob and Rufina Dubao.
The mandated members are Vice Governor Bonifacio C.Lacwasan, Barlig Municipal Mayor Clark C. Ngaya, Bauko Mayor Abraham B. Akilit, Besao Mayor Wellington B. Pooten, Bontoc Mayor Franklin C. Odsey, Natonin Mayor Mateo L. Chiyawan, Sabangan Mayor Donato L. Danglose, Sagada Mayor Eduardo T. Latawan, Sadanga Mayor Gabino P. Ganggangan, Paracelis Mayor Gavino I. Bucok, Tadian Mayor Anthony D. Wooden, Department of Education – Mountain Province Schools Division Superintendent Gloria B.Buya-ao, Dr. Penelope A. Domogo of the Provincial Health Office, Police Senior Superintendent Oliver A. Enmodias of the Mountain Province Provincial Police Office, Hydro Electric Development Corporation (HEDCOR ) Head Rafael Macabiog and Mountain Province Electric Cooperative General Manager Jude A. Domoguen. During the oath taking ceremony, the BODs pledged to carry out the policies, rules and regulations of the chapter. Also, they vowed to render non- racial, non- sectarian and non-partisan status of the chapter for the name of suffering humanity as guaranteed in the Charter of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Meanwhile, Governor Leonard G. Mayaen solicited the full cooperation and support of the BODs for them to perform their functions and obligations for the delivery of services of Red Cross.
He stressed that as elected members of the BODs, they must have the sincerity and dedication to serve the public. This include Disaster Management Services, Social Services, Safety Services, Blood Services, Health Services, Red Cross 143 and International Humanitarian Law.
